St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, North Palm Beach, FL

PAULINE YEAR

 I

In honor of the Pauline Year, Pope Benedict XVI has granted a plenary indulgence to all the faithful who participate in services honoring the memory of the apostle, Paul.

In the Diocese of Palm Beach the faithful may gain the plenary indulgence by attending Mass at any parish church in the Diocese on June 29, 2008, January 25, 2009 and June 29, 2009 (vigil Mass included).

To receive the plenary indulgence the faithful must receive the Sacraments of Penance and Holy Eucharist as well as offer their prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father. The faithful are encouraged to invoke the intercession of the Blessed Mother, Saints Paul and Peter and to make a special visit to the altar of the Blessed Sacrament to recite the Our Father and the Creed, either for their personal intentions or the intentions of the faithful departed.

A plenary indulgence is the remission of the temporal punishment (purgatory) due to our sinfulness.

A SUMMER BLESSING

May you walk with God this summer,

in whatever you do, wherever you go.

Walking with God means…

walking with honesty and with courage,

walking with love and respect

and concern for the feelings of others.

May you talk to God this summer,

every day and in every situation.

Talking with God means...

praying words of praise

for the beauty of creation,

saying prayers of thanks

for friends and good times,

asking God’s help in all your decisions,

expressing your sorrow

when you have failed.

May you walk with God every day.

Amen

ADORATION CHAPEL

Our Adoration Chapel is open for prayer during office hours (see the front page of our website).

Come spend time before the Blessed Sacrament. There are several time periods open and we want to ensure that someone is always present to adore Jesus.

To sign up for a specific time, please call the Parish Office, or Nancy Micheller, 848-5791.

SUGGESTED PRAYER FOR PROTECTION FROM STORMS

As we begin another storm season let us pray to ask God to keep us safe from hurricanes in this upcoming season.

God our Father, Creator of the Universe and Lord over all creation, we humbly stand before you as your children in thanksgiving for  your loving care and protection. We ask that you keep us safe from all hurricanes which may threaten us in the coming seasons. Protect us from all fear and anxiety of storms and give us an ardent trust and hope in your love and mercy. You alone have the power to command the sea, the wind and the rain. You alone bring peace, calm, and safety. Father, we thank you in advance, for you are our only Refuge. We ask this through Christ Your Son, Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. Mary, Queen of the Apostles, and Patroness of our Diocese, pray for us
