St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, North Palm Beach, FL PARISH MINISTRIES
Adult Education Classes are offered at various times of the year; everyone is encouraged to participate.
Altar Servers enhance the liturgies as they assist the priest at the Holy Eucharist. Young men and women who have received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion are welcome to serve.
All Saints School Committees assist in various efforts to reduce our debt and support our parish school.
Altar Linen Ministry launders altar linens on a rotating basis.
Annulment Advocates provide assistance with the application process to those who are divorced and seek an annulment. Training is provided by the Diocese.
Caring Friends provide relief for caregivers of the homebound, companionship to the elderly, rides to the doctor or grocery store, phone support & more. Training is provided.
Charismatic Prayer Group meets Thursdays at 7:30pm in the Chapel. Mass and healing service is held on the third Thursday of the month, at 7:30pm, in the main Church.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place at each Sunday 9:00am Mass for children in grades Kindergarten through seven. Children of parishioners and visitors are invited to participate. Volunteer ministers are needed and training is provided.
Coffee, Bagels & Donuts are available in the Parish Hall after the Sunday 9:00am and 10:45am Masses. Volunteers are needed to help serve after one of these Masses.
Computer Refurbishment volunteers repair and refurbish donated computers for distribution to the needy.
Elizabeth Ministry is comprised of women who have experienced the joys and sorrows of motherhood, from pregnancy through child-bearing, and want to offer their support and understanding to mothers in need. Our Moms are on-call when a family need arises in the parish.
Eucharistic Adoration allows one to dedicate an hour or more per week before the Holy Eucharist. Our Adoration Chapel is open for quiet meditation from 9:00am until 8:00pm Monday through Thursday, until 5:00pm on Fridays, until 3:00pm on Saturdays, and 1:00pm on Sundays.
Fellowship Ministry volunteers assist with parish social and fundraising functions such as dinners, flea market, etc.
Foccus Marriage Preparation is a Diocesan program for couples preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage. Married couples in the parish assist the priests by administering this program in their homes.
Knights of Columbus consist of men in the parish who promote charity, fraternity, unity, and patriotism while supporting the Church, the Community and the Family in their activities.
Landscaping Committee volunteers help to enhance and maintain our beautiful parish grounds.
Legion of Mary members participate in the Church’s work of bringing Christ to all people through prayer and visitation. Meetings are held every Tuesday after the 8:00am Mass.
Homeless Ministry is comprised of volunteers who strive to meet the needs of those who are homeless, jobless, hungry and unseen in our communities. Each Monday, Wednesday & Friday, some members prepare lunch; others deliver it to the places where the homeless gather.
Ministers of Hospitality (Ushers) are visible instruments of welcome to all those who come through our Church doors for Mass on weekends and holy days.
Ministers of the Word (Lectors) proclaim the Word of God at Masses throughout the week and at other liturgical celebrations. Preparation on Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm for those who are reading that weekend.
MUSIC MINISTRY: 9:00am Sunday Choir: Adults and high school youth. Mixed traditional and contemporary, often singing in three or four parts with organ/piano accompaniment. Ability to read music is a plus. Woodwind and brass instrumentalists welcome. Rehearsals in the church on Wednesday from 7:30 – 9:00pm. 5:00pm Sunday Ensemble: 8th grade through college. Style geared to high school youth and young adults, with piano, guitars, drums, bass, winds, and brass accompaniment. Rehearsals Sunday 3:30-4:45pm for instruments, 4:00-4:45pm vocalists. Children’s Choir: Singers and instrumentalists ages 5 through 10 are invited to participate in liturgies on special feast days and occasionally at 9:00am Sunday. Rehearsals on Friday from 4:00-5:00pm. Handbell Choir: Adults and high school youth who wish to participate in music ministry without singing are invited. Training is provided, though ability to read music is a plus. To participate in liturgies on special feast days and occasionally at 9:00 and 10:45am Sunday. Rehearsals Wednesday 6:15 –7:15pm. Instrumentalists: Advanced training necessary. To be auditioned as needed.
Prime Timers takes place on Thursday afternoons from 12:30-4:00pm. Space provided for senior citizens to socialize and play informal card games.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the process by which those interested in full participation in the Catholic Church receive instruction in the faith and experience the living of the faith with other members of the church. Meetings take place on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm.
Religious Education classes meet on Sundays; Pre-K & Kindergarten from 9:00-10:00am, grade 1 thru 7 from 10:15-11:45am, Confirmation I & II from 6:15-8:00pm. Catechists, assistants & substitutes are welcome.
Religious Shop, located inside the front of the Church, is stocked with books and beautiful religious items. Open Monday - Friday 8:30 - 1:00 pm, Saturday 8:30 - 5:00 pm, and Sunday after all Masses. Volunteers help staff the Shop.
St. Vincent de Paul Society provides temporary emergency assistance to those in need, regardless of religion, race, color or creed. Volunteer teams are always available to respond to calls from the parish office.
Sacristans, usually Eucharistic Ministers, help the priests set-up for the celebration of Mass.
Sanctuary Helpers maintain the beauty and cleanliness of the church sanctuary.
Separated & Divorced support group meets every Monday evening at 8:00pm. The 2nd Monday is the monthly meeting with a speaker or related subject. Intensive caring for those recently separated or divorced.
Stewardship Committee strives to meet the needs of the parish and community in terms of stewardship of time, talent and treasure.
Van Ministry delivers food and love to nearly 100 needy families on Tuesday evenings and Saturdays in Riviera Beach & West Palm Beach.
Widowed Persons support one another through social gatherings one Sunday afternoon per month.
Youth Group is for young people from 8th grade through college. Meetings take place several times a month. Youth serve as ushers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, altar servers and musicians at the Sunday 5pm Mass, and as peer team members and catechists for Confirmation I & II. Activities during the year include retreats, bible study group, leadership training, and social events.
